Birds of Feather- Dancing peacocks

Gandharvika Giridhari Jiu are dressed like peacocks today, in peacock feather print cotton outfits, the same effect minus the itchiness of actually wearing peacock feathers. History has it that in a place called Mor Kutir, or Mayur Kutir, in Varsana, Vrindavana, Srimati Radharani and Sri Krishna are said to have danced assuming the forms of a peacock and a peahen. This is said to have been painted by a blind artist whose story is in this link and whose painting i have pasted below.
I remember sitting through the Bharatnatyam performances with rapt attention in my childhood. Now the dancer was a blossoming lotus flower, next she was a deadly cobra raising her hood, ready to strike. Then she was a pretty peacock, fanning out her tail feathers and strutting around in pride. If mere humans can hold us in such attention what would it be like when Gandharvika and Giridhari Jiu dance?
Gandharvika Giridhari jiu and Gurudeva continue to inspire me with many sweet realizations. I look back to my time at the temples that i visited in South India, during our recent yatra and pray to Them that i never cease to serve Them. The almost in ruins temples, speak a lot of the glorious past that now stands neglected. Prayers are my only recourse, whatever else i do i know praying in the mood of of our Acharyas will elicit their attention and keep me tied to Their service steadfast.
